    Chopta Valley Is Situated In North Sikkim. It Is Located At An Altitude Of 13,200 Ft Above Sea Level. It Is A Tourist Hotspot Rich In Alpine Vegetation, Orchids, Rhododendrons And Other High-altitude Vegetation. The Valley Is Criss-crossed By Meandering Rivers. Chopta Valley Can Be Traveled As Part Of A Day Trip From Lachen. From Lachen First You Would Be Traveling To Thangu, A Distance Of Just 30 Km Which Takes Close To Two Hours To Travel. Thangu Is A Small Village At An Altitude Of 13,000 Ft. Although Tourist Accommodation Is Also Available At Thangu, Facilities Are Very Basic And There Is An Increased Risk Of Altitude Related Sicknesses. Thangu Village In North Sikkim A 45 Minutes Drive From Thangu Further North Reaches To The Virgin And Uninhabited Land Of Chopta Valley. At 13,500 Ft With Close Proximity To Tibet The Valley Provides One Of The Few Accessible Places In Sikkim Where One Can Actually Walk Over The Frozen Rivers.
