About Us

RKPO Green Resort sits in the heart of the verdant and lush Punakha Valley. Flanked by thick pine forests, it overlooks the Punakha valley and hundreds of paddy fields that stair-step down to the valley floor. It is surrounded by plentiful walking and trekking trails. From RKPO Resort, it is just a five-minute trek down to the mountain to the magnificent Chimmi lhakhang;the temple of the divine mad man( dharma yogi), which houses one of the amazing statues of the divine mad man) in the country.

It is entirely the handiwork of local Bhutanese artisans. The temple is also a centre of higher learning and meditation for monks RKPO marries contemporary design with this Himalayan Kingdoms ancient and alluring ways. At the core of the RKPO philosophy lies the sense of simplicity and peace that permeates everything about Bhutan.

The RKPO Green Resort is conveniently located between two dzongkhags (districts) namely, Punakha and Wangduephodrang. The RKPO Green Resort is built within 87,123 square feet and the campus is well secured. The resort’s facade reflects traditional Bhutanese architecture, while the spacious, stunningly furnished and elegantly decorated rooms with modern assessories, assure a world-class facility to contend the stay.

The resort provides a beautiful view of Chimi Lhakhang(Temple of fertility) of Lama Drukpa Kuenley (The Divine Mad Man). The history narrates about the Divine Mad Man subduing the demon that came to plague the area in the form of a dog. The temple is built in his honour symbolizing the victory of good over evil. The temple is now known to bless couples who are impotent. Couples far and wide, within country and foreigners come to receive the blessing. The resort is within walking distance from the temple and facilitates marriages as well. The arrangement for marriages can be catered from the resort.

Terms and Conditions :

Maximum two adults and two children below the age of 12 years permitted per room without extra bed.
50% discount on meals for children between 6-12 years. Meals are complementary for 5 years and below.
Prevailing exchange rates in foreign currency will apply for guest making payment in Ngultrum.
Package rates as per the proforma invoice sheet.
3% of the transaction amount in case of international visa and master cards.
0% of the transaction amount in case of local bank cards.

Reservation and Cancellation Policy :

20% payment on booking and full deposit must be made 30 days prior to check in date during regular season (June, July, August, December, January & February) & 45 days during high season (March, April, May, September, October and November).
Rooms will not be held if full deposit is not made.
Any changes in reservation dates or cancellations must be sent in writing.
Cancellation received in less than 15 days "regular season" & less than 25 days "high season" prior to check in will incur 100% cancellation fee.
Late arrivals, no show or early departures will be charged in full (100%).

Check in and Check out Policy :

Normal check in is 12 pm and check out time is 12.00 pm.
Request for early check in may be considered depending on room availability.
Request for late check out may be considered depending on room availability and chargeable on request.
