Diving Sites, Knysna, Garden Route

Knysna has a wide range of diving and reefs from the lagoon to Buffel’s Bay. Scuba diving opportunities include: boat, shore, drift, wreck and snorkelling.
Diving in Knysna can be unpredictable and very weather-dependent, however the lagoon is often warmer and sheltered when the sea is rough. Knysna also boasts the endangered Knysna seahorse, which is ONLY found in the Knysna and Swartvlei lagoons. Knysna has “Hope Spot” status, boosting its conservation status to an international level.

Attakwaskloof 4×4 Trail, Mossel Bay, Garden Route

The Attaquas 4×4 Trail is one of the great historical gravel passes and is located in the Outeniqua Mountains, North of Mossel Bay. The pass was completed in 1869 and used to be main route for Ox Wagons travelling between Mossel Bay and Cape Town. It has since been replaced by a more convenient, tarred pass (Robinson Pass).
The Attaquas Trail is now used mostly by die hard 4×4 enthusiasts and a few local farmers. The trail is 20km long and takes about 3 hours to complete. A low range, high clearance 4×4 vehicle is required.
A permit is required to drive this route and there are locked gates. Keys are obtained on issue of your permit at the start point, which is the Bonniedale Farm.
Note – this route can only be driven in one direction (West to East).
