Malacca is the capital of the state of Malacca, on the west coast of peninsular Malaysia. The best way to travel to Malacca is by road. It takes 2 hours to reach Malacca from Kuala Lumpur airport. Malacca is not too far away from the Malaysian Mainland and Express buses, trains and rented vehicles are easily available. Malacca city is 144km from kuala Lumur, 250 km from Johor Bahru and 300 km from Kuantan.

A'Famosa Fort

A’Famosa fort is Malacca’s best known sightseeing spot which was built by the Portuguese. In the 16th century A’Famosa housed the entire Portuguese administration, including its hospitals, five churches, elongated stockades and four key towers. This fort is one of the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Asia and is visited by many people throughout the year.

Baba and Nyonya Heritage Museum

This museum is actually a collection of three beautifully restored houses arranged to look like a typical 19th-cenutry Baba-Nyonya residence. The museum features hand-painted tiles, elaborately carved teakwood outer swing doors and a sturdier internal door which provides extra security. It showcases the local history of ethnic Chinese-Malays and is known for its elaborate woodwork, furniture, and porcelain.
