Shenzhen at a Glance

Shenzhen is China's first and one of the most successful Special Economic Zones. It is located in the Pearl River Delta, bordering Hong Kong to the south, Huizhou to the north and northeast and Dongguan to the north and northwest. Being a major city in the south of Southern China’s Guangdong Province, it is situated immediately north of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Shenzhen is home to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange as well as the headquarters of numerous high-tech companies. It is also one of the busiest container ports in the world. Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport has domestic and international flights. Air Asia flies directly from Bangkok, Thailand as well as Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia. Silkair and Tiger Airways fly directly from Singapore.

Ferry

There are ferries from Hong Kong, Macau, and Zhuhai. Most services land at the ferry terminal at Shekou. The Shekou ferry terminal is connected by subway and bus services to the rest of Shenzhen.

Rail

Shenzhen is well connected by daily trains from Hong Kong and other major cities. It takes around 1 hour to reach Shenzhen from Hong Kong.
