Air

Male International Airport is the main airport, which connects Maldives to all major countries in South-East Asia including India, China and Sri Lanka. The airport has flights from Delhi, Sri Lanka, Kuala Lumpur and all other major cities of South East Asia.

Deep sea fishing

Maldives is also known as one of the ‘fishiest’ places on earth, because of the variety and amount of marine life and its role in local culture. The atolls and coral reefs create an ideal place for marine life to gather. There are literally thousands of species you can hook into, from reef fish, to barracuda, bonefish, bream, small grouper etc. The most common methods are live bait fishing, fly fishing and beach casting.

Submarine

Whale submarine is currently the world's deep diving largest tourist submarine in existence. On board the submarine, you will descend to a submerged reef, 40 meters beneath the surface. Lionfish, Yellow Box Fish and turtles are usually found here. If you are lucky you may be able to see one of the biggest Groupers in the Maldives.

Scuba Diving

The warm seas, coral reefs and clear waters have made Maldives one of the world’s richest diving destinations. Over a thousand species of fish and other underwater creatures inhabit the Maldivian waters. You can expect to see Napoleon wrasse, parrotfish, snappers, jacks and sweetlips at every site where the water flows. All resorts and safari boats give you basic to advanced training using well-monitored diving facilities of a high standard.

Water sports

The crystal clear waters of Maldives are an ideal place for Water sport activities. Parasailing, kayaking, water-skiing, jet- skiing, snorkelling and surfing can be done here. There are several well-known surf breaks in North and South Male’ Atoll. The roar of the waves and the taste of salt is enough for an adrenaline rush while you surf through the white foam over azure waters.

Local Markets

For small handicraft items, you can go about scouting in the local market, which is located just a few miles away from the Male Fish Market. It is located on the northern side of Male', and distinguished by the sight of hanging clusters of bright yellow bananas throughout the market.

Agora

This shopping centre is in the middle of the city and offers wide range of products from electronics to fruits and household. It is situated in Male. Rufiyaa and USD dollars are accepted here.

Fish Market

The fish market is located a mere two blocks away from the local market. If you wish to catch a glimpse of Maldivians' daily lives, look no further than the Male' Fish Market. Fishermen from the entire country sail right up to the edge of the market and unload the daily catch. Tuna is the most popular fish for sale, but you'll find some other types as well.
