Since the temple is made of bronze, which glitters like gold under the sun, it is named as âGolden Templeâ. The magnificent Golden temple is just a part of Taihe Palace, a Taoist temple in China.
Situated in Lunan country, Stone Forest is 100 kilometres far from Kunming City. It used to be a boundless sea where plenty of limestone was accumulated. The stone forest area is packed with grotesque stones, which seem to break the earth simultaneously, standing solemnly and magnificently. Some stones are as high as 40 meters, while some are only several meters high. The Stone Forest is well known for its grotesque rocks, breath taking lakes, deep silent cave and cascading waterfalls.
This garden is 4 kilometres far from downtown of Kunming City. The site of the exposition garden is a breath taking place. The garden occupies 218 hectares in area, 76.7% of which is covered by vegetation and about 10% by water. It can be said that the exposition garden is just a showcase of the diversified horticultural art of the world.
Dian Lake, also referred as Kunming Lake, was created due to long time crustal movement, and it is 1886 meters above the sea level. Measuring about 300 square kilometres, it is the largest freshwater lake in Yunnan Province and the sixth largest one in China. Dian Lake is just like a sparking pearl embedded on Kunming.
