Rail

Nice is connected to the rest of France via the SNCF train network. A direct TGV train from Paris to Nice takes about 6 hours. Trenitalia trains connect Nice to Italian cities like Milan, Genoa, Rome and Venice. Other trains connecting major European cities are also available.

Garibaldi Square

Garibaldi is one of the oldest and the largest squares in Nice. It is not a fully pedestrianized area, since it is crossed by a tramline and it sits on the junction of several important thoroughfares of Nice. Place Garibaldi has shops, bars and cafes including Grand Café de Turin, famous for its seafood. On the weekends the square fills with stall holders selling antiques and bric-a-bracs.

Cimiez Monastery

The area of Cimiez is the most beautiful in Nice. It lies on a hill, overlooking the Bay of the Angels and the town of Nice. The monastery is in a beautiful garden. Close by, are the Roman antiquities and the Matisse Museum. The monastery has a beautiful church.

Steeped in 700 years of Grimaldi royal history, Monte-Carlo’s location is stunning, tucked between French mediaeval villages and the Alps. Visit Saint Nicholas Cathedral, the final resting place of royals including Grace Kelly is a must.

Eze

The old village of Eze has retained all its natural charm over the years. With the ruins of its medieval château and its little, narrow alleys, the small town attract craftspeople and artists. Nicely settled into the former dairy barns and sheepfolds on the ground floors of old buildings, they contribute to the pleasant atmosphere of the “perched village”.
