Air

Florence's Amerigo Vespucci international airport has good connections to the centre of the city, which can be reached in about fifteen minutes by taxi or bus. Air India, Qatar Airways, Emirates etc. operates flights from India to Florence.

Rail

Modern, fast trains connect Florence with Italy's main cities and other European cities as well. The main station is Firenze Santa Maria Novella, on the edge of the historic old town. Other small stations are Firenze Campo Marte and Firenze Rifredi.

Lucca

Lucca, a top city to visit in Tuscany, holds many attractions for the tourist. Lucca's historic center, with medieval towers and nearly 100 churches, is completely enclosed by its walls and it's a good city for walking, biking, and shopping.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa

This is one of the most famous structures in the world because of its legendary tilt. It was constructed as a bell tower to accompany the cathedral. The tower leans on an angle of 4.1 meters. It’s well worth paying the extra to climb the spiral stairs leading to the top of the Leaning Tower for views across Pisa.

Via Tornabuoni

This is the home of Florence's luxury designers. This elegant street houses all the big names in fashion, as well as beautiful churches and palazzi along the way. A wide variety of clothing can be found here.

Station and San Lorenzo

The Station area has more shops than you might imagine, with chain stores, bookshops and boutiques filling up the main street. Via Panzani and Via Cerretani run together with the nearby San Lorenzo markets adding cheap and cheerful leather clothes, scarves or accessories to the batch.

Ponte Vecchio and Oltrarno

You will find traditional stores selling jewellery, embroidery and leather gloves. The Ponte Vecchio itself is famous for its picturesque and traditional jewellery shops, while the Oltrarno is and always has been the artisan quarter of Florence. In the winding little streets you can find artisan workshops making iron sculptures, violins, books or jewellery.
