There is a frequent, fast train service to York on the main East Coast Line from London Kingâs Cross to Edinburgh. The trip takes a little over 2 hours. There is also a direct service between York, Leeds and Manchester Airport.
York Castle is a fortified complex comprising a sequence of castles, prisons, law courts and other buildings on the south side of the River Foss. It is commonly referred to as Clifford's Tower.
