Best Time To Visit The best time to visit Salalah is during the monsoons (June to September). The city looks its best during this season when the dry arid land comes alive and there is a wide expanse of greenery on the mountains and the rocky terrain looks exquisite. The average temperature at this time of the year varies from 23 to 33 degree Celsius.

Salalah has always been an important city ever since time immemorial both historically and culturally. The natural beauty of the landscape and the many monuments that are symbols of a rich past slowly lure you in to its midst.
Nabi Ayoubâs Tomb is one of the most popular sights of the city. The perch which is located on the Jebel Atteen range is also known as the âProphet Jobâ. The tomb was used for prayers and is regarded by Muslims, Jews and Christians.
The Sohar Fort has a museum which houses Al Musnadâs writings, ancient scriptures and coins. There are many other museums in this city which give you glimpses from its rich past and help you understand the city better.
There are a number of parks and gardens surrounding beautiful, natural springs like Ain Sahnot, Ain Rzat and Ain Hamran. They are perfect for those family picnics and usually have no entry fee.
You can relax and unwind at the many beaches in the city. Head to the Mughsail Beach to listen to the soothing sound of waves, catch glimpses of camels and watch rare migratory birds frolicking in the waters.
Being the traditional centre for shopping for more than 5 centuries, Salalah is well known for its daggers, brassware, carpets, trunks, bukhoor incense, hand woven textiles, baskets and myrrh and of course for frankincense, gold and silver.
The Nizwa Souk is famous for pottery and silver while Mutrah Souk is known for bukhoor. At the Modern Replica Souk you can get knick-knacks, perfumes and watches. The Sinauk Souk is known for its jewelry, clothing, livestock and handicrafts.
The Ibra Ladies Souk is the perfect place to get those utensils and textiles that youâve been wanting for so long and for traditional items like frankincense, gold, silver, rose and myrrh you can go to the Al Hafah Souk.
One of the few places in Salalah to offer dining with a sea view, this open-air restaurant under the coconut palms offers a different themed buffet each night.
