The island province of Cebu, with its capital at Cebu City, lies amidst the Visayan island group, between the two larger islands of Luzon (to the north) and Mindanao (to the south). Cebu, with its deep blue seas, its crisp white beaches and its coconut trees, is the dream destination for many a tourist- perfect for a relaxing holiday, just swimming and lazing around. In the past few years, Cebu has also managed to build up a reputation as a good place for business travellers. Thanks to the efforts of the Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation, an increasing number of corporate houses are using Cebu not just for incentive tours, but also as conference venues. The oldest Roman Catholic church in the country, it is built on the spot where the image of the Santo Niño de Cebú was found during the expedition of Miguel López de Legazpi. The icon, a statue of the Child Jesus, is the same one presented by Ferdinand Magellan to the chief consort of Rajah Humabon upon the royal couple's christening on April 14, 1521. It was found by a soldier forty years later, preserved in a wooden box, after Legazpi had razed a local village.[1] When Pope Paul VI made the church a basilica in 1965, he said it is "the symbol of the birth and growth of Christianity in the Philippines.

These three beautiful waterfalls are near Badian, south of Cebu. When you arrive at Badian, a 15-30 minute walk along and narrow and rocky path will bring you to this stunning destination. Before reaching the falls you will cross three small bridges. Once there you can swim, dive or simply float on by under the waterfalls for the most natural sort of massage. The falls are surrounded by strangely shaped rocks and tropical vegetation that really set the paradisiacal scene here. The best bit about it is definitely the cool, deep and unbelievably fresh water, simply perfect.
