The Marine Park is famous for its natural beauty untouched by development. It consists of 40 islands among which all are uninhabited except one. You can enjoy the natural beauty of these virgin islands with a boat ride. The islands range in size from mere rocks in the deep blue sea to little paradise islands with white beaches and coconut trees.
It is a private island consisting of three smaller islands. Koh Tao is also known as the turtle island as the shape of the island resembles to that of a turtle. One can enjoy peaceful beach, white sands, colourful fishes, and fascinating reefs. The most popular place for tourists is Sairee on the west coast, which has a white sandy beach of 1.7 km. Ko Tao is less developed than Ko Samui and Ko Pha Ngan, but has become increasingly popular especially due to relatively inexpensive scuba diving certification.
The Full Moon Party is an all-night beach party that originated in Haad Rin on the island of Koh phangan in Thailand. It is organised at the night before or after every full moon. A group of tourists found that the most beautiful moon was in Koh Phangan. They arranged a party along the Crescent Shaped beach of Haad Rin. From then, people from all around the world come to join the celebration. Thousands of lamps are lit and as the evening progress the beach explodes into a dancing frenzy.
Standing 15 meters tall, the big Buddha is the major attraction of Koh Samui. It is a monumental landmark on Koh Samuiâs north coast. The Big Buddha sits in the Mara posture, with the left handâs palm up, resting on the lap and the right hand facing down. Buddhist devotees come daily to make offerings of fruit and flowers and light incense at the base of the statue. Tourists are welcomed to observe these graceful religious rituals any time of the day.
