The best way to reach Hua Hin is by road from Bangkok which takes around 2 hrs. Both central Bangkok and Suvarmabhumi airport are just 2 hours drive by road. Buses are also available.
It is one of the Thailandâs most beautiful train stations with unique architecture, cultural heritage and royal connections. The station is located centrally in Hua Hin on the western end of Damnoen Kasam Road, and can easily be reached by walking, in just a few minutes from the town centre. The best feature about the station is its waiting room designed in Thai architectural style.
Klaikangwon Palace, meaning "far from worries", is the summer residence of King Bhumibhol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and Queen Sirikitt. The palace is named perfectly with the peace and serenity surrounding the palace. It was built in Spanish style architecture in 1929.
It is one of the oldest and most beautiful royal places in Thailand. Maruekhathayawan Palace or The Palace Of Love was built for King Rama VI in 1923 out of golden teak. It is located in the outskirts of Hua Hin.
The magnificent Phraya Nakhon Cave is one of the most mystical and mysterious landmarks of Thailand. This cave is located at Sam Roi Yot district. It was discovered by Phraya Nakhon Si Thammarat who accidently found this cave while seeking a shelter to save himself from a storm.
This place is ideal for those seeking a beach area that is quiet and relaxing and yet just minutes from the busy centre of Hua Hin. At the north end of the beach, the rocky mountain of Khao Takiab is an amazing view. There are a number of temples in and around Khao Takiab, the most popular being Khao Takiab temple itself, commonly referred to as "Monkey Mountain".
The Santorini Park in Cha Am is an amusement park, 40 minutesâ drive from Hua Hin. The parkâs architecture resembles the white washed buildings of Santorini in Greece. Itâs a cross between an amusement park and a boutique shopping centre, as they are labelling it as an âAmused Shopping Experienceâ.
Plern Wan means the âjoy of yesteryearâ. It is a themed open-air mall. It feels more like a living museum where one can experience the kind of life in 1950s Hua Hin. Food is the main highlight at Plern Wan. Besides hopping from one food cart to the next, shopping is another favourite pass-time for visitors to Plern Wan.
Hua Hin Night Market is very popular place to visit and located in the centre of town between Petchkasem Road and the railway line. Here, you will find numerous outlets selling delicious foods and an overwhelming variety of local handicrafts, souvenirs and clothing.
Chat Chai market is a large colourful undercover market offering almost everything to the shoppers. The cityâs day market resides in an historic building built in 1926. There are the usual market refreshments: morning vendors selling Chinese-style doughnuts and ancient-style coffee spiked with sweetened condensed milk. This is the most preferred place for the locals for grocery shopping.
It is one of the largest markets in Hua Hin and very busy with all the local Thai people. One can get everything in this market, ranging from fresh food, clothes, accessories, household items, electronics etc.
Centrally located, the âGrand Night Marketâ is next to The Grand Hotel. The market is accessible from Phetchkasem Road and extends all the way to the dead end. Held every night except Monday and Tuesday, it starts around 5 pm and closes at 11 pm. The market has a selection of Thai restaurants and dozens of small stands serving mouth watering food.
