Tioman Island at a Glance

Tioman Island is a small island located 32 km off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Pahang. It has 8 main villages on the island and around 18 beaches, most of them still very pristine and only accessible by boat. The densely forested island is sparsely inhabited, and is surrounded by numerous Coral reefs making it a popular Scuba diving spot. The best known of them is the coral island to the north. 98% of Tioman is covered by a dense jungle, with beautiful beaches and clean water streams.

Tioman Airport is located next to Tekek village. Berjaya Air operates flight between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to Tioman Islands.

Tioman island is a good diving destination for underwater photography as the coral gardens are very colourful. Bahara rocks, Soyak island and Fan Canyon are some popular diving sites. Explore the underwater world under guidance of trainers and if you are lucky enough, you can also find a whale shark passing by while diving.

The most popular activity for visitors in this island is snorkelling. Salang, Tekek, Paya are some good snorkelling spots. Equipments like mask, scuba, fins are easily available at the nearby shops. You will come across wide ranges of corals, fishes while exploring the sea bed.
