Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is an 18-hectare Koala Sanctuary in the Brisbane suburb of Fig Tree Pocket in Queensland, Australia. Founded in 1927, it is the world's oldest and largest koala sanctuary with 130 Koalas. In the sanctuary you can hold a Koala, hand feed Kangaroos and wild Lorikeets and meet a large variety of Australian Wildlife in beautiful and natural setting. There also you can enjoy Flight Raptor Show and also enjoy an Australian outback farm experience at the daily Sheepdog Show, performed by experienced and award-winning sheepdog handlers and their loyal dogs.Freewi-fi is available all throughout the sanctuary,providing guests with comfortable seating, USB power stations and great sanctuary views.It is 12km from Brisbane City, which is about a 15-minute drive. Another way to reach is by Mirimar boat cruise leaves the Cultural Centre Pontoon (Southbank) at 10am daily. The pontoon is located on the boardwalk outside of the State Library.The cruise arrives at Lone Pine at 11:15am and departs for the city at 2:15pm. In Cruise you can see some of the city's most historic landscapes, iconic attractions and historical home sites as you listen to an informative commentary on board. It remains as a destination for local and international guests to not only see native Australian animals, but to also connect and learn, and to leave feeling inspired to make small, positive changes in their daily lives to help protect their own native wildlife and habitats.
