San Marino - Tiny Country in Europe!

Scenic valleys, traditional architecture, medieval-walled old towns, citadels, cobble-stoned streets and a small mountainous region surrounded by Italy, San Marino, in Europe, is a traveller's paradise in every sense.

This small country, whose capital is perched atop a stunning Monte Titano at 739 meter above sea level, is one of the least-visited places.

Though recently, it was titled as Europe's fastest growing destinations, according to a data acquired by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Many people don't even know about this gorgeous micro-state and it is probably because of the abundance of popular tourist attractions in the continent; like Paris, Spain, Switzerland.Although slowly, this micro-state is growing and coming on top of Europe's most sought-after travel destinations.

For instance, from 2016 to 2017, San Marino saw about 31.1 per cent growth in tourism, as about more than 78,000 people visited the country in that period of time. Last year, in 2017, more than twice as many people visited the country.

Considering the population of San Marino, which stands at about 33,500 people, this was a huge boost to the tourism. And with the percentage rising each year, the numbers are supposed to grow even more.

It is the land of clifftop castles and enigmatic greenery, and is also world's oldest surviving sovereign state and its oldest republic. It is surrounded by culture dating back to centuries. Thus making it an unforgettable experience.
