It is the Traditional and cultural Dance Form of Rajasthan, India. The Chari dance is performed by the group of Dancers who show how the women's collects waters in the pots and carry them on their head and travels miles in their daily routine of life to provide drinking water for their families.
This Dance form shows the art of carrying pots by the women's on their head and lit the lightens lamps on their pot. With various twist and turns & twirl they balance pot simultaneously with effortless hand and foot movements while balancing brass pots kept on the heads of the dances. Often the dancers keep ignited cotton seeds dipped into oil upon the brass pot to provide a special effect to the Pot through dance. The weight of these pots must have been enormous but the dancing is nimble and graceful. Chari dance is also known as welcome dance in rajasthani culture. Wearing mesmerizing colorful dresses these women dances which gives an astonishing feel.
The Dance is accompanied by Rajasthan's folk music. It is a very attractive dance holding a distinct place with its style. The Dance induces an interest and awe among the spectators because of the way dancers move while perfectly balancing their pots.
